  • Step 2: Fill the boiler with soft water to the working position.
  • Step 3: Fill the boiler with chemicals for the first time. The dose of chemicals used depends on the volume of the boiler.
  • Step 4: After adding chemicals to close the flanges, the boiler can be heated to a pressure equal to half the working pressure. Continue to increase and decrease the pressure for 24 hours. After 3 hours, blow the bottom once, 2 -5 seconds each time.
  • Step 5: Drain all water and chemicals out of the boiler after 24 hours of circulation.
  • Step 6: After cleaning the furnace, fill the boiler with soft water and add maintenance chemicals LTV BA directly into the boiler. The chemical dosage depends on the volume of the boiler.
  • Step 7: The boiler can be burned and put into use immediately after adding maintenance chemicals. Or store wet until put into use.

Old boiler cleaning process

  • Step 1: Drain the old water, fill the boiler with clean water to cool the furnace.
  • Step 2: Install the system of filling and circulating the boiler descaling agent.
  • Step 3: Insert the inhibitor chemical into the boiler, circulate it and soak it overnight
  • Step 4: Add bleach to the boiler. Run the cycle, check the concentration of detergent until it reaches a stable level. Then drain, fill the boiler with clean water
  • Step 5: Add neutralizing chemicals to the boiler, circulate and soak overnight.
  • Step 6: Drain all chemicals in the boiler out, pump clean water into the boiler to rinse continuously to expel the softened scale. Wash the boiler until the outlet water pH is equivalent to the input water pH, then stop.
  • Step 7: Clean the area, reinstall the flange and test the boiler. Finish the cleaning process of boiler scale . The time it takes to do all the above steps is 3 days.

Effective descaling treatment process

Carry out the cleaning process of boiler scale effectively , according to the following procedures:

  • Isolation of automatic valves, measuring devices (pressure gauges, transducers, …). Remove the necessary flange.
  • Install a bleaching system. Pump clean water into the equipment, run the circulation to check the leakage of the chemical recirculation system.
  • Inject corrosion inhibitor LTV CL2482 into the system, circulating for 1-2 hours.
  • Fill the system with LTV CL32 bleach, circulating for 4-5 hours depending on the concentration of bleach (every 30 minutes). Add chemical
  • LTV CL32 (if necessary) to maintain the concentration of bleach LTV CL32 from 2-5%.
  • Continue to cycle the bleach until the bleach concentration remains unchanged. This is an important stage to determine the chemical has enough time to react with scale but not cause equipment corrosion, decisive for easy cleaning of scale in the next stage.
  • Recover bleach from the system into storage tanks for processing.
  • Fill the system with clean water and run the circulation to flush the remaining part of the detergent out of the system. System flushing is performed several times until the pH, TDS of feed water and pH, TDS of water discharged in the system are equivalent (range of no more than 0.5).
  • Fill LTV CN50 with neutralizing chemical and run it around for about 2-3 hours. Neutralizing chemicals can be soaked overnight.
  • Discard the neutralizing chemical LTV CN50 out and rinse with clean water.
  • Use a pressurized water jet to mechanically clean and remove scale in the system.
  • System flushing is performed several times until the pH, TDS of feed water and pH, TDS of water in the system are equal (range of no more than 0.5).
  • Check and evaluate the level of residue that has been removed after cleaning.
  • Connect the system, return to the original state.
  • Fill in fresh water and do a full check before turning the system back on.
  • System acceptance.

Causes of boiler scale

The first cause of scale build-up on the boiler wall is poor boiler cleaning , not treating the scale regularly, leading to scale sticking to the boiler wall.

Most of the scale in boilers comes from water hardness. This hardness will react in the thermal environment and create scale that adheres to the boiler walls. – Impurities in boiler feed water: The worse the feed water, the higher the percentage of impurities. The basic criteria in the water causing scale include: Hardness, TDS, Silica, minerals.

Blow-down of the boiler: Regular blow-down of the boiler will partly remove impurities in the boiler. However, due to objective factors, we cannot continuously blow down the boiler: Continuous operation, boiler under pressure, workers do not have time to blow down, do not know how much discharge is enough.
